Fees & Booking Information
We will furnish our mediation services at the rate of $330.00 per hour for two party mediations or $150.00 per hour per party in multiple party matters. There will be a 2-hour minimum bill per mediation or party as applicable. The fee shall be divided equally between or among the parties unless otherwise agreed before or at the mediation. Additionally, travel time for mediations outside Hillsborough County will be billed at the rate of $100.00 per hour.
Our firm schedules mediations in the following manner:
If the mediation is in Tampa, we prefer to schedule three mediations per day per mediator at 3 hour intervals beginning at 9:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
If the mediation is to be held outside of Hillsborough County (i.e., Pinellas, Pasco, Polk, etc.), the mediations are scheduled at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. also for three hours.
If you feel that you will need more than three hours, please be sure to notify our office as soon as possible.
While we try to accommodate all parties who wish to conduct their mediations at our office, we do not always have the room to have the conference here. It is very important that you check the on-line calendar, or if necessary, contact Katie to verify that our office is available on your selected date. and time.
If the mediation is cancelled less than seven (7) days before the date of the scheduled conference, the two-hour fee will be charged. If a full day is reserved, a minimum four (4) hours, ($1,320.00) will be charged. Invoices will either be delivered at the conclusion of the conference or faxed within twenty-four (24) hours to each parties’ attorney.
If you have any objection to the terms of the mediation engagement, please contact us immediately. Otherwise, it is assumed that the parties will be bound by the terms stated above.
An important note regarding cancellations: When a mediation is cancelled, we will assume that all parties are in agreement and WE WILL NOT REQUIRE any party to file a Notice of Cancellation. If there is some disagreement between the parties, it is not our responsibility to determine whether or not the mediation should be cancelled. If either party (regardless of who scheduled the mediation) wishes to cancel the mediation, we will abide by that instruction, unless otherwise directed by court order.
The following information is required in order to confirm the mediation on our calendar:
- It is very important that after a mediation is scheduled that a copy of the style or a pleading be faxed to (813) 258-1095 so the matter can be indexed and other paperwork prepared for the mediation. (This is not applicable in pre-suit mediations, however we do request a short note or other written verification.)
- We appreciate it if all cancellations can be communicated to us as soon as possible. It is not necessary to file a Notice of Cancellation.
- We need the names of all attorneys who will be in attendance at the conference (or insurance adjusters/representatives if pre-suit) and who they represent.
- A typical mediation is booked for 3 hours. Please inform us if you need more time.
